I always just Dna sex my chicks. I have Silkies and found a lab that sexes 1 to9 birds for only ten dollars no tax. Its accurate and easy. Just pluck a couple chest feathers. That's it.then they test the Dna off the Feather. No more guessing!! That's one sure fire way to sex. Totally accurate and only takes a couple days once the feathers are recieved. takes away all the guess work. Its really convenient.

as you will see on there site you can sex up to 9 birds for ten dollars!! Hope this helps. I recommend expiditing shipping of the samples because that's what takes the longest. Once they recieve the samples its only two days or so for results.

Its so easy to use this lab. Just pluck a few chest feathers as shown in their video send the feathers and then get results!! I used them for my babies. this is by far the most less expensive lab available!! They do a great job I've never had problems with them. I always send a few feathers for each bird incase something happens to a feather. Just mark the birds samples clearly. In my case I used colored zip ties on the birds legs and wrote as a example buff green meaning the buff with the green zip tie.buff blue meaning buff with the blue zip tie or buff none the buff with no zip tie. This way when you get your results they're is no confusion as to who is who. Example of results would read buff blue female. Or buff green female or buff none male. This is just a example of what worked for me. hope this helps and its completely accurate and very simple to do. For ten dollars no tax because we are in the US. You can basically test your whole hatch. If more than nine it will be another ten dollars so you could test 18 birds for ONLY 20 dollars. 9 birds for ONLY ten dollars!! Its the best deal I could find!! Watch the example video and see how easy it is.no more guessing or wise tales to find sex. Its scientific and accurate. Worth every bit of the ten dollars!! Your welcome. I live in southern California about a hour and half from LA. I am glad I can help! I recommend expiditing the shipping cause that's what takes the longest cause the lab is in Canada. As soon as they get the samples it only takes about two days for results. I just mailed mine regular mail and it took awhile to arrive.but if you expedite the shipping it will get there much faster. glad I could help! I'm so happy knowing I have two girls!! I didn't purchase the males. Its a great way to buy babies if the breeder will do this. Of course the buyer pays for the dna. but at 10 dollars for one to 9 samples its a great bargain!!
