How to sex muscovy

So I need to buy some muscovy girls. I found a guy super close to me and he charges $20 for young muscovy and $35 for adults. I realise that's probably a good price but I'd like to save some money because I don't have a lot to spare atm. I know eventually they're different sizes because of my own. I also know how to successfully vent sex but I doubt he'll let me do that to his ducks lol. How can I tell when they're young he said it's harder to tell which I believe but I'm sure someone knows more about it than me at least. I'm sure he'll help me to the best of his ability too but I would like to try to learn something myself as well. I'm pretty positive that these are the young muscovy

Also, where I'm from, $35 isn't good money for a barnyard muscovy. In fact, we got some local ducklings for $1 apiece last fall, and some the year before that (granted, this was from TSC) for $4.50. Is there something special about these ones?

Here Muscovy ducklings can be anywhere from $8 to $15 each and adult ducks are around $20-$30 and adult drakes are $35-$50+.

Oh dear. There’s a good mix of ages there making comparison difficult! Go for the ones in whichever age group you want that have the tiniest feet, thinnest legs, and the most advanced feathering and hope for the best? How many are you planning on getting?

I got two. I ended up going with my safer bet so I wouldn't get more males but on the plus side when I got home I noticed one had blue eyes so it made me happier. If I can find someone who will let me sex their ducklings maybe I'll get more girls but I doubt most people would let me do that.

Thank you! He said 5 to 6 months old which would mean they're older than my other ones. Though my females look a bit bigger but I think it's because they might be fat.
