How to Spot a Muscovy Cross?

Muscovy females are small. I looked at the pics again and as long they are close in age, it may be a girl. Up to you if you decide to keep it but if it is indeed female, you could just use the eggs or see if she makes as good of a broody/mother as most scovies do.

If it's a girl she will be kept but if it's a boy it will be traded for a female. How do I tell? It doesn't make much noise and when it does it's quiet but this may because it's at the bottom of the pecking order.

Does it quack? Hiss? Kind of chirp? Muscovy are quiet, they rarely quack. The males will hiss and the females kind of chirp.
quack = duck
hiss = muscovy drake
chirp = muscovy hen
Maybe a pic with your muscovy would help more.

I think she is beautifully!! :) .... i don't know nothing but that looks like a girl to me, i mean, scovy drakes are so big and... male.

in the first couple of pic she has her bill open.... was she making any sound?? cause my scovy Henrietta opens her bill whit no quack when she doesn't like something, and on the other hand the Pekin makes a lot of noise

It doesn't really make much noise but when it does it sounds like a much quieter version of the Blue Swedish drake. That makes me think that it's a male but the size make me think its a female.

No she wasn't making any noise when her mouth was open. She does that when she is upset, like your hen does. She is very quiet compared to the rest of them. She doesn't hardly make a sound.

The woman I got it from seemed to think it was a boy, but we had a hard time trying to get it to make noise. I talked to her and she said she will trade a hen for it. It just stinks because this one is so darn pretty.

Ok here it is. I've been it calling it a "she", wishful thinking I guess lol

For sure has muscovy in it claws & some of the coloring in the feathers. Very beautiful. I second the not sure on gender - Hopefully it'll start talking for ya so you'll know
