What are the tall tell signs/diffrences between easter eggers and pure americanas? The last batch i recieved were sold to me as americanas and turnes out to be EEs..and i just recieved 4 more from someone else, and i would just like to know what to look for

The source of the bird is your best bet for identifying the birds. Only one hatchery sells Ameraucana, and the price is quite a bit higher than an Easter egger.

A breeder of true Ameraucana will list their birds by color. Wheaton, black, etc. If the person can't tell you what color they breed, they're Easter eggers. If they say "my birds are gold and black" or something like that, they're Easter eggers. A breeder of any purebred bird will breed specific colors.

True Ameraucana should also lay only blue eggs. If the eggs are shades of green, they're mixed breeds.

x2 Also, if they cost about the same amount as any other chick, they are Easter Eggers. Pure Ameraucana are rare and hard to find. Because of this, they also cost a lot more. They usually cost at least $15 per chick. Adult birds can cost as much as $50.

I purchased them both from seperate backyard breeders. My latest batch was twice the price

Was just hoping for and proof by looking at them. Since they range 2 weeks-4 weeks

If they are from backyard breeders, they are also probably Easter Eggers. Lots of people order "Ameraucana" from hatcheries and don't know that they aren't pure Ameraucana. Then they breed these birds and sell the chicks as pure Ameraucana unknowingly.
