Starting a hatchery... Wow.. Okay that's a pretty broad question. What are your goals? What is your set-up? What are you trying to do exactly? Eggs, chicks, etc...

Do a google search on "duck breeding pens" see what comes back atcha.

Start by pricing out some cabinet incubators--- the good ones start at about 600$ each. Breeding pens are great, but your hatchery can't do much business until you can hatch out your fertile eggs very reliably!

Metzerfarms.com has a lot of videos on their site of their breeding pens and I'm sure a look at their setup would be really helpful to your plans!

. But it is going to take alot more birds than that to open a hatchery. Many hatcheries have at least 30 per breed. Are the birds of good quality? If so you might want to consider becoming a breeder which is much less legal work than a hatchery

Yeah, I'd recommend starting small by setting up a couple breeding pens for some nice heritage breeds, get some consistent hatches, and sell locally at first. Local feed stores are often pleased to get local ducklings and it doesn't take much talking to get the same price for your ducklings they pay the hatchery. Avoid chain feed and farm stores though, they typically have to live up to a corporate contract.
