I've heard a few people talk about their millie fluer Cochins that are projects I'm Guessing that means they started out with some type of cochin and some type of chicken with the millie fluer color correct??
The reason I'm asking is I have a young millie fluer D'uccle Pullet that that my trio will not except at all!! I've tried a couple times with no sucess. I also have a few different color cochins around her age that I could put her with wondering if this would be a start?? I'd like to keep her I've gotten attached to her.

Maybe those who have tried or working on this project will chime in. But from my understanding, they use all cochins, and then select for the best type and color. It may take several generations to get them looking like mille fleur.

Tate, who has been working on the mille fleur cochin project for eight years shared with me that crossing in Mille Fleur D'uccle into the line was just a bottomless pit of faults that were about impossible to breed out. He had a very hard time with the beards popping back up as well as poor wing angles and hard feathers on the hocks, wrong tailsets, you name it.
I would just sell her if your trio won't take her. Someone somewhere is really needing that bird and would gladly give her a new home. Sometimes it just isn't worth it to do a hard fit when adding new birds to an established flock, if you know what I mean.

Now, if you were interested in a mille cochin project, feel free to contact me in the future for some eggs. I have been hatching some VERY promising looking babies from my F2 eggs. GOOD type and some with very good color too! I will have to post update pics sooon.

I had thought about it, I'm a cochin nut so I'm always looking for different colors. I'm about burnt out on incubating for awhile so I've been waiting on broodys but maybe we can work something out. Send me a pm with prices and all the info.. Thanks.
