How To Stop Crows From Stealing Eggs??

I can't be the only one having this problem... We have a small coop (as mentioned in countless other threads, lol) and the nesting box is not far from the door. Occasionally our eggs go missing and once I saw a crow carrying one off. We don't really have snakes in our area so I'm positive it's crows. Has anyone had any luck stopping them? Thanks in advance!

Do you have a run around the coop? If so, put string across the top about 1 foot apart and then the birds cannot swoop in.
If not, put a piece of fabric over the coop door. The hens will push through, but hopefully the crow will not see the opening.

Thanks for the suggestion! My gals are free-ranged but I will definitely look into the fabric idea.
