To each their own. However in nature such a learned behavior is a genetic dead end. I don't want a chicken in my flock that for whatever reason isn't able to resist eating their own young.
Occasionally I will have a soft shell egg or a pullet that let's an egg go on roost. All the members swarm the feast like a school of piranhas but it stops at that one egg.
