how to stop pullets from roosting in the laying boxes

i have about 16 chickens total 12 pullets 2 roos 2hens and 3 of the pullets refuse to roost on the perches they lay in the laying boxes i wouldnt mind it if they didnt dirty them up so bad please help

First off, are you roosts higher than your nesting boxes?
Chickens instinctively want to go as high as possible to roost at night. The roosts need to be the highest.

Also, it may take going in the coop at night for a few nights after they've gone to roost and moving them to the roosts. You have to be consistent and do this every night for at least a few nights until they get the hang of it.

I tied a string across the row of nesting boxes at night, they learned real quick like where not to roost.
