How to Stop Self Pecking

I have a salmon faverolle who had her beard picked at all winter by the rest of the chickens when food froze to her beard. Now she stands in front of the other hens waiting for the feathers on her neck and chest to be pecked, and if they don’t peck them then she does it herself. How can I stop this? Thanks.

You can purchase pinless peepers/blinders and put them on her. You'll need the pliers to put them on her.

Hi there! How did you resolve this? I have a 3+ week old chick who was pecked by others. I separated her and put vetericyn on her several times a day. However, she is self-pecking, making her wounds worse. All her feathers on her neck are gone and her skin is blistered and red … :-(
