They have 16% layer feed, 24/7 free choice oyster shell and grit, random weeds from the yard, all of the compost minus the stuff they shouldn’t eat, and no beets ( thats a differnt story) and most days they free range, but not recently.It sounds like they are based on the commercial egg laying hybrids as opposed to being red sex links made by crossing two dual purpose breeds. So they are really good at converting what they eat to eggs.
What are you feeding them? If you are feeding a high protein diet you might cut back a bit to a lower protein feed. The commercial operations fed them a 16% protein Layer feed and still get Grade A Large eggs. That might reduce egg size a bit. But they are bred to lay big eggs.
