How to store eggs to hatch in future?

I know this may sound dumb but I have never hatched any eggs.

I want to know how do you store the ones you plan on hatching? in the refridgerator?

I have one bantam and an americauna rooster that I want to hatch eggs from. So I want to save only the bantams eggs and have them hatched under my next brody? how do I do this? and should I make sure that the rooster is fertilizing her eggs or what???

Help me I am new at this.

I store my hatching eggs in the basement. It is nice and cool. I stick them in an egg carton pointy side down and rotate the carton from left to right by proping it up with wood 2x a day.

The only way to see it they are fertile is to crack them open. There are great pics in the top of this thread that will show you what you are looking for.

I store mine in my wine refrigerator.... its not as cold as a regular refrigerator and the temp stays constant.
I also rotate it twice a day.

So by rotating you mean turning the eggs oveer or what? Also whats the ideal temp. to keep them at?

You can store them up to 14 days, after that there hatch rate will start to drop, Eggs should be kept about 50-60 (refrigerator is to cold) I keep mine in a draw in the bedroom. Some turn the eggs or tip the carton one way or another. Some don't !!! I don't and have never had an issue !!! The chicks wont start to grow in the egg in till they are incubated so I see no need to turn in till put into the bator !!! Good luck !!

Thank you for asking this question. I am new and was wondering the samething.
Why is it said that if you order eggs through the mail, to let them sit 8-10 hrs. before
putting them in the bator?
