How to take care of Kangaroo!

I love kangaroos but don't think they would love to live here in NY . Do people really keep Kangaroos as pets?

I have fostered a few baby kangaroos before. Their mums get run over, but sometimes the baby survives. As for how to keep them, I kept the babies in a pouch and when they were a bit older I kept them in a well fenced in area outside that had access to shelter and food. Once they were old enough, I returned them to the wild. Sometimes they come back into my property, and it's nice to see them.

But you don't keep them as "pets"...Just foster them until they are big enough to return to their natural environment....I think that's great!!!

I've only had a bite of kangaroo, but it was pretty dang tasty.

Wallabies are more much common as pets. They have a delicate digestive system that needs to be respected. If someone has a problem keeping rabbits alive due to issues like GI stasis, wallabies aren't for them. Proper exercise, sunlight exposure, the hefty cost of exotics and care, time, and care of feline carried illnesses are some other major considerations. People who can meet the needs of a given animal have had many great years with exotics.

This guy is a wallaroo
