How to Tell a Fertile vs INfertile Egg (Pictures)

Pics
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for this posting. Been trying to figure that one out for awhile now. Guess I have one less thing to drive me crazy now. Just have a 999 more to go and I'll be done with todays batch.

So heres another question. When you break an egg open to check if its fertile, will the bullseye always be on top, or you do you have to turn the yolk over if you don't see anything in case the bullseye is on the bottom side of the yolk?

thanks for posting this! I guess our little pullet, Cinnamon, has been laying some fertile eggs lately for sure!

I hope to have some fertile eggs down the road and this is a great place to learn how to tell the difference.
Thank you!

We crack ours open and put it in a clear custard dish. We can look on the bottom of the dish. That way we don't take a chance on breaking the yolk trying to turn it.
