My ducks are on day 16. The other night I candled and all were bouncing baby ducks. Today I candled and it seems that one has a big black dot floating in it. I can't see any movement at all not even to outline of the duck anymore, and the veins seem to be floating. The whole area that isn't egg white is just free loating way too easy. I mean the other eggs will take quite a few mins for it to rotate to the top when I turn them, but this one is just floating around. Is it dead or should I give it a couple more days and candle it again?

I'm a complete beginner so could be wrong, but when I fried my eggs one by one the liquid turned in to water just like you described and they were definitely dead

. They solidified the next day or so , but were still dead obviously! Dont know what causes this..

I really think this one is dead. The other eggs I can clearly see a baby duck kickig, turning and jumping around. I can find no outline of a duck at all. Just a black blob with veins free floating around it.

agreed, i reckon it died a few days in. they do sometimes...cam be caused temp too high or low in the first couple of weeks or not enough turning. but sometimes it just happens.

Yup. It was deader than a door nail. I took it outside to open it after spending 15 min candling it to make sure, and not to be graphic, but the embryo practically fell apart when the egg was opened. It has been dead for about 4 days. I think it could be due to a partcially detatched air cell.
