How to tell difference boiled and fresh eggs?

Had to post on the results of the will-they-notice-the-difference deviled egg study? Left with 33 deviled eggs. Plates were emptied in about 10 minutes. (Even though the peeling didn't go quite as well as I would have liked) About an hour into the evening someone asked where I got the huge eggs.....pause....from our ducks (husband commented in the background, "quack, quack, quack").

I think husband was disappointed that we didn't come home with any, but I can always make more.

Now, time to go out and give the duckies a Christmas swim in the pond and float some peas for them!
