OKay, embarrassing question. We had about half dozen boiled eggs in frig which got put back in the carton with fresh. Is there any way to tell which are boiled and which are fresh without cracking them? Need to make deviled eggs for the holiday but would prefer not to take week old twice boiled eggs to the in laws?????[IMG]

Set them on the countertop and spin them. Hard-boiled eggs will continue spinning, uncooked eggs stop spinning more quickly.

With chicken eggs, you spin them. Boiled eggs spin very easily. Uncooked ones do not.

I would think this would also work with duck eggs.

I'm glad to know it works too, even though i now have a designated egg carton for my cooked eggs. [IMG]

I boiled some chicken eggs for "dummy eggs" in my ducky's nests. I give them a good spin every once in a while to make sure it's not a new duck egg [IMG] wishful thinking.
