How to tell if egg bound?

She'd probably like that. I'd break a Tums in two and give both halves to her so she gets that in her system faster. Ok. I just had her eat a whole tums and she still has access to the dissolved ones too. I’m grabbing a cup of her feed now to make into a mash but I don’t think she’ll eat till the morning.

The egg still seems to be in the wrong place within her body. From what I can tell looking at diagrams online, a stuck egg should be higher in her body towards her spine, but this one seems like it’s in her lower intestines. Just based on the pictures I’m seeing.

That’s a really good point! I’m always worried I’ll asphyxiate them but now that you mention it I HAVE seen this one eat a whole garter snake before!

The calcium will cause contractions and should help her expel the egg or parts thereof if that's what it is.

If this lump you're feeling isn't hot, so probably not an infection, and isn't an egg, then I'm at a loss.

Can I give her too much calcium? I don’t want to overdose her

There had been no change all morning but I just went to check on her again and she pooped. It’s a tiny poop but she hadn’t pooped since I had brought her in. It’s mostly solid, not watery.

I’m not sure when she last laid an egg. I think it was about 2 days ago, which would be normal for her, she doesn’t lay every day. Her eggs are always really pointy, I’ve always joked that she must have a narrow oveduct but maybe she really does?

Her belly still has the hard mass under her cloaca
 
She still hasn’t laid an egg, so I’m gonna do another soak. I haven’t given her more tums yet today, but should I?

She has eaten a little bit and drank some water. She had a tiny, dry poop about an hour ago.

She’s extremely lethargic. She is not one of my friendly, cuddly chickens usually. But right now she’s sitting in my lap willingly and fast asleep so I can tell she’s not feeling good behaviorally. Also she’s got her tail tucked and she usually holds it high.
