I've cracked some eggs open to see if they are fertile but is it the little white dot that means it's fertile?

I have a vigorous, healthy rooster and 9 hens. I consider that all the eggs would be fertile. I can't think of any reason why they would not be so.

Not necessarily...I have a really great little Black Silky bantam cross roo and he's always guarding and finding food for the girls, he even mounts them regularly and in every other way seems to be healthy and vigorous, but we have never had a fertile egg. Sometimes they just shoot blanks--or maybe he's to small for them or something. We don't know and don't much care, because we're not in the business of raising chickens, we have them around because we really just like having them! Eggs are just a bonus.
