How to tell legitimate puppy ads from scammers and puppy mill ads.

Yes, I found that table on the AKC website. The links are not very helpful even when they work.

I guess I will have to look it all up myself then. There are just so many abreviations, I know I'll get them all mixed up.

Well sorry for getting this thread very off-topic.

Oh, and these two clubs are holding what's known as a cluster. It's helpful to exhibitors and also volunteers and workers, if shows can be back to back, so you get several shows for your one weekend of travel.

It's not really that far off topic, since all this is good information for finding legitimate puppy sellers. My first two main questions have already been answered anyway. ;)

If you're in or near Connecticut there should be all kinds of dog things for you to see. If it's salukis you're interested in, you might want to look for breed shows or lure coursing.

Go to www.infodog.com

Click on dates. A list of shows will come up.
In akc we must enter shows three weeks in advance
If you need more info PM me.
What state are you in?

I'm in CT. It looks like there are a lot of dog events now that I checked the AKC site. I thought the AKC was just for registry, I never realized they did other things.
So can you just go and watch even if you don't have a dog? Do you usually pay to get in or no?

I have a friend that I go to dog shows with regularly. Most of them have been small shows so far and I've never had to pay to get in. He just had to pay his entry fee. Some of the larger shows you might have to pay to park but it's usually not much.
