HOW TO TELL THE AGE OF A PEAHEN

AUSTRALIA: 18 months ago I bought a peacock and peahen and put them into our insecure greenhouse, whilst we were building a secure enclosure/home for them. The peahen laid one egg, which was stolen a few days later. They are in their new enclosure which they go home to every night for their treat and to roost (they let themselves out through a high trap door in the mornings). The peahen has never laid again in the 18 months and seems very disinterested in mating. She used to walk around him, however, she has never crouched down for him, and I am not sure whether he knows how to mesmorise her or to pounce on her? He may be too young?
A couple of weeks ago I put 2 Indian Runner ducks and a drake into the enclosure with the Peas because the ducks were vulnerable outside (foxes and powerful owls) and they were laying eggs in odd places. The peahen seemed a bit territorial when the ducks were enclosed with them (she did not go out into the garden for a few days). Then the peacock seemed interested in the ducks, dancing/ displaying for them (inside and outside the enclosure). Now the peafowl are keeping their distance from one an other, and the peacock is screeching all day long, driving us nuts! Could my peahen be too old to lay and is there a way of telling the age? I am thinking of buying a one year old pied peahen, in the hope that the Indian Blue peacock will be distracted enough. Oh! what to do?
