As far as laying in the coop, 9 times out of ten eggs are laid in a nest the ducks make, in their little house (or basement shelter if that's where they spend the night). I let them out between 7 and 8 a.m. most days, and the eggs are already laid.

Yesterday we were out for our morning walk around 7:30 and Sieben laid her egg around 7:45 - a little late for her, but she's been having calcium issues.

Runners may start laying at an earlier age than your ducks, which are somewhat larger. The rule of thumb I have read is that the larger the bird, the older they are when they start to lay. And while someone started laying at 16 weeks, 4 days (yes, I remember), it took perhaps another 6 weeks before we were getting eleven eggs a day from eleven ducks.
