How to to turn pellets into crumbles?

I did try my hand crank nut chopper. I always had to be patient when grinding 2 cups of nuts to fill the catch base; it did the job though! A nice size crumble with very few fines.

Good for very small jobs.

Arielle, I know your OP was that you wanted to see if your chickens liked the crumbles better. I was wondering, if you don't have so much in the way of pellets that you can try a bag of the crumbles first, then switch if they like it. If you have lots of pellets, then grinding, as slow as it is might be, is the most efficient way to get even sized crumbles, as long as you have the proper screen.
