Yesterday this was the roof of the old grow-out coop... no idea where the tin went and this top frameing is about 150' from where it was yesteday minus walls I haven't found yet;
But for every bad thing there is a miricle that comes along too.... Terra's roses bloomed today;
Wow, thanks for sharing the pics! We have a small woods around the house, and here in Ohio, the winds right now are terrible! Cutting up that wood can be exhausting! I'm a gal, but I can sure run a chain saw, so I know you've got your work set out for you........ Hopefully you've got a nice fireplace or wood stove......
The wind here in Ohio today is really really strong. I'm at my desk in the office (a tower building), and it's been creaking and moaning for about an hour now. A friend and I went out at lunch time, and dirt and debris from the city sidewalks was getting into my eyes....We just went back inside......
Temps were surprisingly warm though here in OH. I believe it's nearly 80 degrees......Rain every single day since I can't remember.....It's been the wettest April on record....
Warning! Graphic pictures of the chicks I lost below;
Please don't look if you are squemish...
This is where I found the brooder, laying facedown in this flooded area.
Thanks to a couple of very nice emergency Railroad workers who saw my flashlight in the dark stopped to check on our health and helped me sit it upright it could have been so much worse. I cull ruthlessly so you wouldn't think it would bother an darned old farmer like me, but I sat right down in the mud and cried like a little girl. I know I have hundreds of chicks and grown chickens on the farm most times, but I do love my chickens. Each and everyone is special to me and I put so much time, care and love into them.
But God aways sees fit to work a miricle into the worst of things. There was no way anything could possibly survive being thrown through the air so far, land in flooded water, no electric to run a heat light....
but...
When I went out to see how many I lost look what was standing in the corner of the coop;
Total losses so far around 23 chicks. Thank you Lord, it could have been so much worse.
