yeah i was worried about ya'll too, but haven't had internet much today. Pickwick lake area got nailed hard. The hardware store, bank, and Fred's is gone...about 50 houses gone. No fatalities thank the Lord!! A few non critical injuries are being reported. This was about 2 and a half hours ago now. I haven't heard of much in Selmer actually except for flooding. I went to town earlier during the calm before the last round. Our road was flooded pretty badly in several areas, and my backyard is currently a lake. The ducks are happy about the recent development

I thought Queensland was as bad as it got, but seeing footage of entire towns in ruins just doesn't have the same ring as hearing about a family that this's happened to.

MFB, I am glad you and your family are ok. I showed my DH your pictures and when it got to the pics of your drowned chicks, he said, Awww, he lost his babies. Poor little babies. We are so sorry for your losses, both chicks and trees. The next picture of the chicks you found safe and sound was so sweet. You have the right attitude, clean up a little bit and go see what you can do for your neighbors. Hope everything gets better.

MFB, i'm sorry that this happened to you, but I am tickled to see you haven't loss your sense of humor! You'll need it. I'm glad to hear no one lost their life in your community.

I've been indirectly touched by two tornadoes. The place where I work was leveled, and then a few years later one of my best friend's homes was heavily damaged. What stands out the most to me is how people come together during a tragedy like that. When my friend's home was hit, we loaded up the chainsaws, cooked a big breakfast (they have six kids) and headed over there. The first thing that they said when we got there was "I have a little problem, my chew is in the truck!" The truck was under a MASSIVE tree. So, we started there. My friend was so dazed when her home was hit, she started mopping the floor. I had to take her by the shoulders, shake her a bit, and tell her that she couldn't stay in her house. It had no roof. Once all the repairs were made, their home was more beautiful than it was before.

I hate that this has happened to you, and I thank God that you and your family are okay. I pray there is a "new beginning" lurking around the corner for you. If you think of any small way that we can help, please let us know.

I'm so sorry for all your losses. The weather keeps coming, and there seems to be no end. At least you and your family are safe.

I'm waiting myself for the flood waters to crest tomorrow and for potential serious storms this coming Monday.... Rarely ever do we have tornadoes in KY, but at times like this you've got to be prepared for anything.

You'll be in my thoughts!
