Hello all,

so I put my chickies in the coop they are about 7 to 8 weeks old did well in the cold! but now they won’t go in coop at night they huddle in the corner somewhere! I’ve been putting them in the last 3 days. However I have read putting a light in the coop at dusk would help them go in but first day It didn’t work. I have a ramp but that chickens during the day don’t use it. so Maybe they aren’t familiar to the ramp to the coop? Or do they need more time to train? Any thoughts?!!

This is the ramp

thanks

Your ramp is way too steep. Try propping up the end on a cinder block to reduce the angle.
Yes, this^^^...... and add more cleats, add one cleat between all the existing ones.

How big is your coop...wider pic, please?

Try locking them in for a few days so they know where home is. The ramp could do with levelling put a little as it’s quite steep. Mites could also be an issue, sometimes this is the reason they don’t want to go inside as that’s where the mites live and are worst.

Well your ramp is way to high , they won’t walk up that. It needs to be much less steep, however even after you fix your ramp you will need to put them up nightly for awhile . Then you’ll go out there one evening at dusk and they will be in already. Just give them time
