My husband is picking up a few chicks for me on Friday, he has to drive 4 hours with them until they are home, what suggestions do you have as far as packing and keeping them warm, they will be only 1 day old if they hatch on Thursday, or they will be 1 week old if we have to wait until next Friday. They are Cuckoo Marans. I just want them to be warm and comfortable, I will sit by my

until I hear. Thank you, and I LOVE CHICKENS!!!!!!

Put them on the floor of the car with the heater on. Not blasting, but a gentle warmth. They will likely be just fine.

I sent 10 chicks with my mom to Nashville TN a 4hr drive from here.. I got a few of the handwarmer packs they use for hunters. I put them under a few layers of papertowels.. And made sure to poke holes in the box for air to enter these packs work from the oxygen in the air.. All 10 made it fine no squished and they were never cold.
