How to treat injury to back of head on hens by rooster

I aquired a rooster who caused a bloody injury to one of my hens from raping her. It appears to be just the skin, but it is bloody and a bit raw. Should I treat it with something or let it heal naturally? Will flies be a problem?

Oh, the rooster is no longer at our house. He was a recent aquisition and I wasn't that wild about taking him in the first place....the hens don't need that kind of torment.

keep it clean. a little antibiotic ointment. should heal up fine I would think. clean it with some sterile sailine first. You can buy it in the drugstore with the contact lens care. Erinm
