How to Treat Scaly Leg Mites

I've mixed ivermectin in a plastic baggie with a scoop of Vaseline (just squished it together) and rubbed it on their legs. A couple of treatments a few days apart was all it took to clear them up.

Curiously, how much ivermectin in how much Vaseline do you use. I have one that I think I wanna try this with.

She could’ve been stepped on really hard, you never know. And it does happen.

It mainly happens with incubator hatched birds when the temps fluctuate and severely inbred birds.

Or perhaps that she’s standing on concrete.

And yes, it can happen in incubators like you say, I’ve even had it happen to my chicks before

I know it happens in incubators with screwed up fluctuating temps. That’s been proven. The bird doesn’t stand on concrete 24/7. He said it’s free range.

Do you know if that bird was incubator hatched? A lot of crooked toes come from incubators.

No I don’t know if she was incubator hatched as I got her from a farm I worked at and she was dropped off by some 4-H kid a few weeks prior to my employment.

I’ll get some more pictures of her feet.

She doesn’t favor one leg over the other and roosts, scratches, and flies around just as much as my other birds. Maybe her toes got caught in a door or stepped on by a horse
