You can bang a nail into a piece of wood with a sledgehammer...............This is why I like ivermectin, no fuss, no muss, just treat and street so to speak.
Do you treat for lice and mites at all?You can bang a nail into a piece of wood with a sledgehammer...............
I haven't had to treat many for lice. A couple of the rescue hens with cut beaks tended to get lice. I treated them with a lice powder I get here. The senior rooster used to do a good job and pecked the lice off their rear ends.Do you treat for lice and mites at all?
What? The treatment I use is the one that most veterinarians would recommend. You can bang a nail into a piece of wood with a sledgehammer...............
And this I understand. If you're selling eggs, you don't want to used ivermectin.True. But I sell organic eggs, so can't use it. I really prefer to use the most chemically inert methods possible to treat problems. So it just really depends on the person/situation. I don't think there is one right answer.
Will that treat scaly mites?I prefer fipronil.![]()
Honestly I have no idea. Kills everything else and it burns if I have a cut on my hand so it’s gotta be good!!!Will that treat scaly mites?
Maybe your vet recommends. What? The treatment I use is the one that most veterinarian would recommend.
Not just my vet, just look at all of the veterinary literature.Maybe your vet recommends.
Who's using it for every problem? If any livestock get lice, pretty sure many vets will recommend ivermectin or moxidectin. The problem with using drugs on every problem is the likelihood of greater parasite immunity increases. When there is a major problem that does require these drugs, eventually the parasites will have mutated and the drugs won't work. It's the same with the consumption of anti biotics for every complaint.
Why deal with the hassle of applying gobs of Vaseline when it can be dealt with by giving a little ivermectin orally or topically?Sure, Ivermectin will work, but why bother with it when the problem doesn't require it.
