How to turn eggs?

So I have a question for those of you who set your eggs in the incubator horizontally or vertically. I understand how you would turn the horizontal laying eggs, but how do you turn the vertical ones? Do you just flip the egg from pointy end to wide end and vice versa? or do you have an automatic egg turner that tilts them from side to side?

I'm planning on incubating eggs very soon and I don't have an egg turner (homemade incubator) and was planning on placing them in egg cartons vertically but then I was lost as to how I would turn them lol I'm probably just gonna go horizontal for the sake of it.

Thanks!

I have a turner. but on the verticle ones if I'm using a table top incubator and don't have a turner. I use a 2x4 or stack of magazines.
lift one side of incubator and stick board under. after 4-6 hours or remove board so it's back to level. after 4-6 or so hours put board on other side.

like a gentle rocking.

never flip an egg little end to big end.

good luck with your upcoming hatch.

that's why I wanted to double check to not flip the whole egg because it seemed very off for me lol thanks!

Thats sounds loke a good idea lol. I just stick my hand in the and sweep it across the eggs two times a day and they hatch every time!
