Ok, I have wormed a week ago with Wazine and want to follow up in the next few days with safeguard. I bought the 25grams paste for Equine. It's in a tube and I can't figure out how much of it to give my chickens??

I looked around on the forum and I could only find someone saying to mix in in with some chicken treats, but how much do I give them and for how many days?

I'd appreciate any information from any of you chicken people who have used this type of wormer before. Thank you so much!!

We just squeeze out a BB size portion (or slightly larger for big birds like the roosters) and swipe it into their beaks. Some say it isn't entirely mixed up in the tube so they may not be getting a good dose, but with Safeguard, you can give many times the recommended amount and it's still okay so you could squeeze out a little more than a BB and they'd be fine. Pine Grove recommends Valbazen as a broad spectrum wormer and I may try that the next time I have to worm my flock.

If you mix it, you have no way to know that everyone is getting enough, but if you have lots of birds, I can see how it would be easier.

Thanks Speckled Hen..that helps. I see your in North Georgia just a hop skip from me in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
My word you must live on these forums I see you have over 36,000 post.

I just have a small flock since I'm in the city and the chickens aren't really legal, but I'm working to get the ordinance changed.

Thanks again!
