Ok so tonight my daughter while putting the run door down, kinda let go and caught a 5 week old chick. It’s head was sticking out of the door, the door( 1/2 inch plywood about a normal run door size) was on it’s poor little neck. How tough are they? It seemed to be ok, chirping and eating right after it happened. Could there be damage?

If it's not acting off and you don't see any obvious damage to the neck I'd wager it's probably ok.

I've even seen a couple threads on here where people accidentally stepped on a chicken's head or let the door close on the head by accident and those all made a full recovery.

Thanks that makes me feel better. It got up shook itself and started eating.

Yeah, the chickens in the threads I read didn't. They were dazed or unconscious and seemed to have brain swelling. When they did come to they couldn't walk and it was pretty bad. They recovered fully though so I think yours is fine. :) The door didn't break her neck or anything so I can't imagine much else that could have happened. Maybe she'd have a little bruise or something, but if she's eating already her throat probably doesn't hurt.
