Hi, I have a hen inside recovering from a dog bite wound. She is doing great.
She was used to being outside in RI for the winter, but now she is alone inside our construction zone kitchen which is about 56 degrees.

Do you think that is warm enough or should I bring in a heat lamp?

Too cold if she's healing... burrr Get the space heater, be sure she can't get burned by it, If she's in a cage, cover it with an old blanket open to the heater. I put the heater close to the cage on 1/2 the length or one end of the cage so if she's hot she can move away from it... watch her a little and she'll tell you if she likes the warmth...

good luck..
