How well can geese see in the dark?

Funny I never saw geese migrating at night carrying flashlights! maybe being domesticated changed them?

Mine are the same and have poor vision once it becomes very dark. Sometimes its a bind having to be around at dusk with sufficent light to hard them into their night quarters.

Since starting this post back in August things have changed for us a bit. I've not been able to get my surviving 2 geese in the coop. Everynight after feeding and visiting a bit they make a b-line for the pond. They stay in the pond, protected by the water until morning. I call them up for their morning feeding and all is well. I starting thinking about winter and the predators out there that will be fattening up for the winter. I contimplated making a floating island but realized the work and expense involved, we decided on penning in the coop. We've taking a 5x10 dog run, 6 foot tall, and modified it so the doors to the coop would be enclosed by the pen. I'm hoping to get them comfortable to go into the pen to eat, drink and play in pool so I could close them up at night and they would be somewhat protected. I may leave the coop doors open so they could lay in grass if they so desire. The pen is open at the top. What do you think?
