How well do chickens hear?

Our chickens can hear quite well.

My 12 yr old DS and I take care of them and as soon as they hear our voices, they run to the gate.
If they hear my DH or other DS's voices, they go about their business and ignore them.

It doesn't take them long to know whose hand feeds them, and you are their favorite person.

More so interesting about there hearing....Like I tell my daug...I can tell you and tell you something...and u know what....the chickens listen to me, and hear me...man they can hear me from far away....YOU...nope....you hear when you want too....example:

me saying in a very very low and you being across the house, I want to go to the mall...and you come barrling down the hall way, I want to go!!!! thats how my chickens hear me BUT ALL THE TIME....you....me yelling across the house, facing down the hallway....Alex, you need to start your chores!!!! *loud yelling*....and NOTHING FROM YOU.

THATS WHY I LOVE MY CHICKENS...I CAN SAY ANYTHING OR NOTHING AT ALL LIKE THE SONGS SAYS...AND THEY COME RUNNING TO THE FENCE....

my coop is about 150' from the house and they can hear us when we talk inside.. they go dead quiet just waiting for us to appear all looking at the door to the house. i might add the windows are open
