How well do peas ferment? Do your chickens like them?

I am working on a couple of whole grain mixes for my chickens and a few of them have a large percentage of peas in order to achieve the protein levels that I want. I will grind some but will also feed a fair amount of whole grain fermented form morning and night. Question is...how well do the chickens like peas in whole form once fermented. I know they are a hard grain but assumed they would soften up well. Thanks, Travis.

Surely I am not the only one who has approached fermented peas with trepidation.
