how well do your silkies & silkie mixes lay?

I was getting an egg every other day from my purebred silkie, but haven't gotten one in a week now. No molt, same feed... only variable is heat.

I get an egg every day or every other day from my english game hen.... are silkies just not great layers? How about mixes? I have on silkie/araucana mix... She is getting old enough to lay, but nothing yet.

We've got two silkies. They seem to lay around 5 eggs a week (10 eggs total). They did go 3-4 days without laying a week or so ago but they're back on track. I just figured it had something to do with poor Joe trying to mate with them

Well the one in lay has been mated a great deal by the rooster.... maybe it is that combined with the heat, combined with my not knowing not to feed scratch in the heat

The one I know is in lay has laid yesterday & today.

My girls lay one a day. That means I get about 6 eggs everyday. Too bad the eggs arent larger, i could have something good going on there !! Lol. But , Ive only been getting one a day now, as almost all of them have gone broody !! Theyve hatched 6 babies already !!!

My silkie stays broodie. Not too many eggs from her. She would rather incubate everyday and never lay another egg..
