How/where do you store your eggs?

Hi. I'm new to chickens and am so thankful for everyone who shares their stories and wisdom here.

I am wondering how you store your eggs? I have 3 hens laying and 3 more to start laying in the next few months. So far I've been keeping my eggs in an paper carton on the counter and moving the oldest eggs to the right and adding the fresh ones on the left. I came across this Egg Skelter and think it's super neat. I figured I could come up with something similar and I started wondering how everyone else keeps their eggs. Does anyone have any tips or favourite egg keepers?

Here is a rough 'proto-type' I bent a wire hanger into.

That's a neat idea!

We keep ours in a basket on the kitchen table. When we collect the eggs at the end of the day, we pencil the date on each one, so we have to sort through the basket to find the older ones.

I also have a spare refrigerator--it's all refrigerator with no freezer. I bought it to store drinks and extra foods during BBQ's , parties, etc, but I've also found it a handy place to keep eggs. We sell 100% of our eggs on a weekly basis, so I don't need a dating system or anything. I write the names of the buyers on tiny sticky notes and post them on the outside of the re-claimed cartons I use.

Thanks. Uh, I sort feel dumb for not thinking about pencilling the date on...
I can't really justify an extra fridge with only 3 hens laying, but I have 3 more who should start laying soon and am looking to add 4 more in the near future. I will keep my eye out for a mini fridge at the yard sales. I could keep it in the workshop, (which is beside the coop) and store some drinks for the kids in there too. It might cut down on some of the mud (let's face it - poop), that gets tracked in the house everytime my son wants a drink!

In a wire egg basket on the counter. With only 4 girls laying they're barely keeping up with our use so eggs NEVER sit around more than a couple days in our house!
