How would you compare a Cornish roo to a Buckeye roo?

As far as how it fills out in the breast and structure?

Cornish are a meat variety while Buckeyes are a DP variety.
Buckeyes were developed from Cornish, Game, Plymouth Rock, and Cochin.
Cornish average about a pound heavier than Buckeyes but Cornish are much slower maturing than Buckeyes.
Buckeye in 16-20 weeks and Cornish in over 24 weeks.
As a DP breed, Buckeyes may never develop the huge breast meat of a true Cornish.

I have some heritage Buckeyes. They are eleven weeks old and growing like weeds. They are going to be big birds but won't have the big breast like Cornish rock cross. So far I like the breed, real calm. I am playing around with the rooster. Training him on a lease. He has lots of personalty, talks a lot.

Buckeye roosters grow pretty fast, 16-20 weeks sounds right but the carcass is different from that of Cornish. Longer legs and less large of a breast. I have found them to develop muscle well.
Buckeyes are a dual purpose breed. That is because they are used for meat and eggs. So our extra grow out cockerels will be used for meat and the pullets for eggs.
I probably wouldn't use them solely for meat, but they make a good meal when you have extras running about.

I have two Buckeye pullets. I got them although they don't lay eggs quite as vibrantly as other breeds, if push comes to shove, I'll have two meat birds that focus on the (FAR tastier to me) thigh and leg meat than some of the more breast-oriented breeds. At this point, I'm planning for them to be layers. We shall see.

I was under the impression that Buck Eyes were developed from RIR. I have a BE roo, and 4 hens. I'm very pleased with their conformation and their temperament. Never had a Cornish, though have grown out Cornish X Rocks on numerous occasions.

My BE roo is massive, while the hens are about the size of a typical RIR. Much more pleasant demeanor than any RIR I've ever met.
