Suppose you had recently (2 weeks ago) sent a few hundred dollars (money order, certified mail) to a very well known poultry breeder and then recieved NO response to the payment?

Suppose all the emails sent before the transaction had been answered very promptly and politely, but after payment had been recieved, (you know it was recieved because you tracked it via the certified mail), suddenly you get no response via email, despite you sending 4, very polite emails requesting a simple "Yes, I recieved payment, thank you"?
I'm getting frustrated, but trying to be patient, but its really alot of money, and to be honest, I'm feeling ignored. Like I am not a valued customer.

This person has been in business a long time and seemed so competent, until I sent payment- now, nothing. For 2 weeks. I dont know how to tell if a M/O was cashed or not (I have the stub) so I havent checked that. Wouldnt it seem right to send someone a E-receipt or something? Or even a notice that they can not fullfill the order and a prompt refund?

2 weeks seems a long time in the case of a family emergency or something like that.

What would you do, and how would you feel?

First of all find out if it was cashed and who cashed it. There should be a number on the money order to call. Then use the info that you find out to present to the seller and go from there. Good luck

I'd send them a certified letter asking for either your money back IN FULL or whatever it was you paid for within 7 days, if not, I would indicate that I would be perfectly willing to take them to small claims court for breach of contract.
That's just me, though.

That should light a fire under them.

Things happen in life and sometimes we are unable to respond to emails... have you tried calling them? I've noticed some people are able to ignore emails... but not a phone call or voice mail.
Since you paid via money order and you have a receipt tab... you should be able to contact the place you purchased it and have them help you track it... also you sent it via certified mail... so you should be able to see if it was delivered. While you have them on the phone about the money order you may also want to ask about how to go about submitting a stop payment on the money order...
Good luck and I really hope that you are able to get this resolved in a happy way.

I always used USPS money orders. Got accussed of not sending the money and contacted my post master. It cost me $10 to get a copy of the money order showing it was cashed.
Never got the item I bought nor my money back.
I use paypal now.

Good luck.

I would call and insist that they call you. AND then if they still don't call, go to the "where am i, where are you" section, find their state, and put a posting on there
to see if there is some one near that breeder and ask if they will go there in person.
IF you can't do that, contact the post office and the police dept. the person has stolen money and commited fraud. I am not sure if it is mail fraud, but it could be.

Hope this helps.

I am going to call the phone number on the sellers site tomorrow. Its a tiny bit harder than normal since they live in another state and have several hours difference in time. I have to try to figure out the time difference between here in Ca and IN, then try to call them during a rare quiet moment in my home. But it is my goal.

I dont see a phone number to call to find out if the money order (it was a US postal order, btw), so I have only checked the certified mail tracker and found out the M/O was delivered on the 10th of this month. Maybe I can go to the PO and ask them about it?

What gets me is this seller answered ALL my emails BEFORE I placed my order and sent payment, I even sent an email to notify the seller that I sent the payment that day. That was the first email that went unanswered. Then the 3 after that were ignored. I dont want to jump the gun and get too PO'ed, I mean the seller is on the older side, what if something bad happened? But then again, the seller is not alone in the business and has help, soooo???

I am so very tempted to just name the seller to see if anyone else has had any issues, or even if someone might know something about what is going on in the sellers life, but I would prefer to keep it as annonomus (sp?) as possible to prevent hurt feelings or possibly tarnishing someones reputation in the case this is all a fluke.
