How Would You Handle This?*UPDATE*

Jeez, sounds like the rage-aholic family. I personally would have been sorely tempted to snatch him off that front loader by his hair and wipe the floor with him. But I think you are doing the right thing in how you are handling it.

I'd drag him down and pound him into the ground, and I'd let him know that I'd be out of jail before he gets out of the hospital if he ever pulls a stunt like that again anywhere near my family.

Well the fair is now completely over with. So tomorrow I go in and see the County Commisioners about what happened. I took a ton of pictures of how the pens all looked before we took them down and where we were standing when Bozo pushed them with the tractor.
Talked to our Sheriff who was not happy hearing about what happened. He said since it is private property; belongs to the county fair; it would be up to the fair board to pursue charges, but he did say to bring it up with the commisioners also.
Said it would be classified as "Child Endangerment, Reckless Behavior and Disregard to Public Safety."

Going to see what happens tomorrow.

Went in and saw the commisioners. They were not too happy about what happened. Gave them pictures showing where we were standing.
Was asked if I wanted to get rid of that guy. Yes, before he injuries a child or their animal.
They were also surprised that I had already talked to the sheriff about what happened. It the Sheriff's Department jurisdiction at the fair grounds.
They really sat up when I told them I would hate to see the county get sued because this guy injuried someone or injuried one of the kids animals and they couldn't show them.

Will have to take it up with the fair board and I will.
Plan to get a statement from the sheriff or ask if he can attend with me concerning what charges can be filed against this guy.

Yeah, he might have to start chasing her around the yard on the riding mower if he can't get his jollies chasing kids on a backhoe.

Definitely keep us posted. I think it's a great sign that they asked you if you wanted him gone... didn't even bother starting with 'we'll have a chat with him" just straight to booting... definitely a good sign

Also took it up with one of the fair board members. He was concerned about it. Didn't give me much hope of getting rid of the guy, but he didn't know I had talked to the sheriff or that I was going to the comissioners.

Going to get put on the fair boards agenda for their next meeting. Going to have the photos of the pens and where we were standing when he pushed the panels into us.
The commisioners asked if anyone saw this happen, yes friends of his. Found out someone behind us saw what happened. Just need to find out who and get a written statement from them.

Boyd his wife was "politicing" after this happened trying to save both of their jobs.

I volunteer with the County Extension agent, might drop by her office tomorrow and have a chat with her. I know she doesn't tolerate that sort of stuff.
