Looked at some photos of Australorp chicks and they do favor her as well. No idea on types of eggs. A lady donated the eggs to my daughters teacher but didn't say what kinds they were. My daughter does know hers was brown. It may also be an Australorp...you will be able to tell for sure in a few weeks, it does look kind of like a barred rock as well, does your daughter know what colored egg she hatched? Or better, what type?
Thank you! Some much needed information in there. Never honestly thought I would be doing this lol!Hi and welcome to BYC. Here are some helpful links:

Pork Pie
I'm definitely curious as to what breed she is, but I'm happy as long as she's healthy and happy lolRosie is not a barred rock, her feet look pink to me. In a few weeks she will be easier to identify.
No idea on my part, but her legs and feet are 2 tone....black and yellowdont barred rocks have pinkish toes? Starting at black and ending with a dash of pink?
Possibly a Blue Australorp, very pretty!Ok....so it's been a couple of months now and our little Rosie has grown a lot! She had been joined in her coop by 4 slightly smaller game hens that were given to us by a friend of my wife's. So far everyone is behaving and getting along well.
Anyway, while I originally thought she might be a barred rock, I've now decided that she might be an Australorp or part so. What's y'alls opinion?
