Helloand Welcome To BYC! Nice looking coop! There are some more examples in the Feeder/Waterer part of the Coops section of treadle feeders etc. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/homemade-chicken-feeder-waterer-designs-pictures![]()
With the hives/ itchiness, you might want to take a really close look at your birds and be sure they don't have mites, some people are allergic to them and some will bite people.
I will watch for mites, that was one of my first thoughts, but i have only touched 2 of them, the rest havent let me yet, they came from the farm so it could be possable. The other day i was gathering weeds, i also touched some of the birds, i dont know what got me itchy and hives as ive never had them, then the next day i did the same and was itchy and full of hives on my arms again, then yesterday i didnt touch the weeds and touched the chickens a bit and didn't notice anything, today also so it might be that one weeds i touched. Im going out in a bit and will pick up the one that i have been petting because she is squatting and getting ready to lay her first egg soon and check her vents and under arms and see if she has mites and check the others if i can.
