Hello everyone, and thank you all for the welcome postings. They are appreciated. Although I can see now, I need a more colorful user name, wonder if I can change mine without re-registering?

I have recently joined the ranks for the unemployed so that is a large part of my absence from this site. I am fine and know these things happen and finding a new job will take some time.. in the meantime I have non paying work to do, but I find that usually the more enjoyable of the two kinds..

I do have a question about a couple of my laying hens, perhaps some of you could take a stab at what I should do?

The issue is that a couple of the hens are getting mounted so much, the feathers on their backside have been worn off. They seem none-the-worse for the wear, but it does concern me. I have 5 Roosters and 27 hens and a couple of the roosters are pretty shy for roosters.. still unless the hens in question are just plain easy, I am not sure if there is anything I can do about the feathers being worn off? Should I doctor the exposed flesh with antibiotics? Leave it alone?

Anyway, thanks again everyone for the nice welcome postings, and your user names give me quite the chuckle.. I could never get away these days and times by calling any woman Fuzzy Butts...
