Howdy everyone newbie here but not new on chickens.

Thank you one and all for the wonderful and enthusiastic welcome. Nice to meet all of you. Been reading a lot from this forum over the last year decided to get back into poultry now that things are slowing down a bit in life for me and a new house has given me the opportunity to have poultry again. Only this time with other breeds other the RIR chickens. I want calm lower on the pecking order types where egg production is not the top priority. However I do indulge my passion for bantams as well. More as pets not as food and eggs. Sure many on this board k ow what I am talking about.

Congrats! and...

I have to say I am partial to the buckeyes due to their friendliness and curiosity. As a dual purpose bird I am very partial to them. Least friendly are the bantam buff brahmas. I find them flighty and always on the defensive even if not pursued by another chicken. They run from those clownish Faverolles constantly LOL those birds are big goofs and so fun to watch.. I live in a high migration hawk route....so bantams will not be allowed to free roam unless it is in a tractor.
