    Hi,

glad to have found this group, as I'm a newbie to keeping chickens (I do call them my "chooks," with a nod to the folks "downunder" who I gather came up with that name).

I have three Rhode Island Reds, who are now about 7-8 months old. Besides enjoying their eggs, I find them charming and so, apparently, does my mare Bonita. I see her standing in her paddock near the chooks' coop, just watching them with a peaceful expression on her face.

I have already posted over in the Diseases forum, adding on to a thread about soft-shelled eggs. I'm hoping someone will come up with something to let me feel useful for my problem chook.
