Howdy from Deep South Texas

Howdy all from Deep South Texas! Near Raymondville. I am new to raising chickens and am loving it! I have always been an animal lover and I currently have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 dairy goats (breeding/milking), 2 horses, kids have 2 heifers for FFA! I got my first puller chicks about 6 weeks ago (barred rock, buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red and something else not sure what she is) and started with them in the garage out of the elements, under a lamp, transitioning brooder boxes, heat etc as they grew. Stared building my coop from an outdoor 10x10 dog kennel 2 weeks ago (still adding onto and tweaking it). Purchased my first rooster (Plymouth Rock) and subsequently received 2 beautiful laying hens (barred rock) from a neighbor a few days ago! I was soooo excited to get my first eggs! Birds are all in coop together now and doing great! I have lots of fun watching them and taking care of them!!! I am new to the chicken business and have allot to learn!
