Hi everybody! I'm MaTanner1. I'm new to this forum. I have raised chickens for about 3 yrs now, excluding the years we had chickens when I was a kid. My husband and I started hatching chicks last year... We hatched 3 clutches!
We are currently working on an incubatorful now. So far we have 3 pips that I can see without opening the incubator.
Unfortunately, the temp in the incubator spiked to 106 deg. 3 times. I'm not sure why it did this. Maybe cuz it got cold in the house, and the thermostat was trying to adjust? So I think that high temp may have killed most of them.
I am still waiting........... to see if we'll have anymore. Last year's hatch was very successful. At one time, we had about 20 chicks in our brooder box. Time to set up another one... Ok, so I'm gonna copy some of this and go to another part of the forum to ask questions...
I am so glad there are other people out there that I can ask questions of...
Thank you..
