Hello! My name is Jon and me and my fiancé recently decided we wanted to raise some chickens. Mainly for eggs, but eventually I would like to feed my family with fresh meat from the backyard. I spent a few hours yesterday building a coop. I found some plans online. I have a lot to research still, so I’ll try and wait for the noob questions until after I read through the forums.

whats the average cost of a 6-7 month old hen?

this guy wants $30 a piece. fed organic this and that. Seems steep. But they are laying eggs now. i believe he said 7 months old
